Rooted in 1828.
Crafted for Today.

For nearly two centuries, Westminster has baked crackers in New England using time-honored methods, slow proofing, and simple ingredients. From our earliest days to today, our commitment remains the same: craft with care, bake with patience, and create crackers worthy of the table.

Where It All Began

A New England bakery with a simple belief: do it right, do it well.

In 1828, our first Master Baker crafted crackers in a small New England bakery using a wood-fired oven and time-honored, hands-on techniques. Each batch was mixed, rolled, and stamped by hand—built on patience, precision, and pride.

Nearly two centuries later, that commitment to craftsmanship still guides us. What began as a local bakery has grown into a trusted name, known for traditional oyster crackers and slow-baked recipes made with care, simple ingredients, and attention to detail.

Tradition, Done the Right Way

At Westminster, tradition is not just history. It is how we bake today. We continue to craft our New England crackers using seven simple ingredients and no added preservatives. Our dough is slow proofed for 16 hours to naturally develop flavor and texture before baking, creating the light, crisp bite that defines a true oyster cracker. Some of the same vintage machines that shaped our early crackers are still part of our bakery today. They serve as a daily reminder that great baking is not about speed. It is about consistency, care and a commitment to doing things the right way.
